What the Bible Says About Identity & Self-Worth
"I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well."
— Psalm 139:14 (ESV)Key Scriptures
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."
"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession."
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."
"The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs."
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you."
What Scripture Teaches
Your identity is not found in what you do, what others think, or your past. It is found in what God says about you.
In Christ you are: chosen, loved, forgiven, adopted, a new creation, and an heir of eternal life.
The world tells you to find yourself. Scripture tells you to find yourself in Christ.
Your worth was established at creation (made in God's image) and confirmed at the cross (worth dying for).
