1Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
2Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.
3From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD’S name is to be praised.
4The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.
5Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high,
6Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!
7He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
8That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
9He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.
1Praise ye Jehovah. Praise, O ye servants of Jehovah, Praise the name of Jehovah.

1Praise the Lord. Praise, you servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
2May the Lord’s name be praised now and forevermore.
3From east to west the Lord’s name is deserving of praise.
4The Lord is exalted over all the nations; his splendor reaches beyond the sky.
5Who can compare to the Lord our God, who sits on a high throne?
6He bends down to look at the sky and the earth.
7He raises the poor from the dirt and lifts up the needy from the garbage pile
8that he might seat him with princes, with the princes of his people.
9He makes the barren woman of the family a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord.
1Praise Yah! Praise, you servants of Yahweh, praise Yahweh’s name.
2Blessed be Yahweh’s name, from this time forward and forever more.
3From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, Yahweh’s name is to be praised.
4Yahweh is high above all nations, his glory above the heavens.
5Who is like Yahweh, our God, who has his seat on high,
6Who stoops down to see in heaven and in the earth?
7He raises up the poor out of the dust. Lifts up the needy from the ash heap;
8that he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
9He settles the barren woman in her home, as a joyful mother of children. Praise Yah!

Reflection
- 1. God humbles Himself to see (v.6). The God of the universe stoops. He is not distant or disinterested — He deliberately lowers Himself to notice you. If God must humble Himself to see heaven, how much more must He stoop to see you — and yet He does it gladly.
- 2. From dunghill to princes (vv.7-8). No starting point is too low for God. He specializes in radical reversals: dust to dignity, ash heap to authority. Your current condition does not determine your destiny.
- 3. Jesus sang this psalm (Matt 26:30). On the night He was betrayed, Jesus sang about God lifting the lowly from the dust — knowing that within hours He would descend to the lowest place so that He could lift us to the highest.
- 4. Praise from sunrise to sunset (v.3). The scope of praise: from east to west, from dawn to dusk, continually. There is no hour of the day when God's name is not worthy of praise.
